About
Depth Protocol is an editorial publication about AI applied to the work that’s been waiting for it.
Most AI coverage falls into one of two buckets. Either it’s about AI itself — benchmarks, model releases, capability frontier — or it’s about consumer hype: the latest chatbot, the latest controversy, the latest predicted job-replacement panic.
Neither bucket helps the person actually doing the work.
The compliance officer reviewing 200 documents a week. The wealth advisor walking through a SECURE Act 2.0 question. The closing attorney handling a Georgia real estate deal. The new parent picking a first car seat. The gift-giver staring at a search bar at 11pm. These people are doing real work that now has better tools, and almost none of the coverage is written for them.
That’s what Depth Protocol is for.
Editorial mission
We write for the people who actually have to use it. We test things before we write about them. We say what we’d do differently. We acknowledge what we don’t know.
How we cover things
We use the products and services we write about. Every recommendation comes from actual use, not from a press kit or a demo call. When we recommend a product through an affiliate link, that’s how the publication is partially funded — and our editorial doesn’t change based on whose link earns what.
We’re transparent about how AI shows up in our process. AI helped us draft this paragraph. AI did not write the article you’ll click on next. We use AI the way you do: as a tool that gets better outputs when a human knows what they’re doing. Every published article has a named human author who stands behind it.
We don’t do listicles for SEO. If a topic deserves 1,200 words, it gets 1,200 words. If it deserves 400, it doesn’t get padded to 1,500.
We update articles when we learn we were wrong. The publish date stays; an “updated” line appears at the top with what changed.
Who's behind this
Depth Protocol is written and edited by Sorin Decu, a Vice President and Specialized Fiduciary Officer at Bank of America Private Bank (Series 7 / Series 66 licensed) and the founder of Vectis Consulting LLC. He arrived in the US at age 7, is trilingual (Romanian/Spanish/English), and has worked in banking and wealth management since 2013.
The intersection of regulated industries, professional practice, and AI is where he works — both as a fiduciary inside a major bank, and as the founder of a consulting firm that helps law firms, financial practices, and other regulated businesses adopt AI without breaking the rules they have to live under.
Depth Protocol covers the broader range of topics that work touches.
About Vectis
Vectis Consulting LLC is an AI consulting and products firm focused on regulated industries — currently working with Georgia real estate closing attorneys, with active engagements expanding into accounting, senior living operations, and other compliance-heavy verticals.
Vectis publishes Depth Protocol as its editorial arm. The two share a thesis (translating AI for industries that haven’t caught up) but operate independently: Depth Protocol’s editorial choices are not driven by Vectis’s client work, and Vectis’s client work is not described in Depth Protocol articles.
